Roman Theater - Verona

The theater is located under the hill of San Pietro, and is within walking distance to another building dating back to Roman times, or Ponte Pietra and is a magnificent landscape point of Verona, where the human work is part of beautiful nature of the river Adige.

Built during the transition of power between Caesar and Augustus, the Roman Theatre was built to enjoy of the scenes having as background the flow of water of the Adige, watched by an auditorium of about 105 meters.

Above the theater, in fifteenth century convent of the Jesuits, was built in 1924, an Archaeological Museum which contains an exciting collection of bronzes, mosaics and marble from Roman times, but also frescoes and paintings dating from the Renaissance.

The Roman Theatre is a walking distance from the Hotel Scalzi and can be easily reached walking the streets of the oldest part of town where you can start immediately to breathe the magical atmosphere of Verona.
